Meet Dr. Ya-Hsin (Sarah) Chang, a licensed physical therapist in both Taiwan and the United States who is dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based care through a biomechanics-driven approach to movement and rehabilitation. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tung University in Taipei, Taiwan, before pursuing a Master of Science in Biokinesiology at the University of Southern California, where she further developed her expertise in musculoskeletal biomechanics and human movement.
Born and raised in Taiwan, Dr. Sarah came to the United States to pursue advanced education and research, driven by a deep intellectual curiosity about human movement and rehabilitation. As a research-integrated clinician, she combines scientific evidence with strong analytical skills and thoughtful clinical reasoning to develop individualized treatment plans that address each patient’s unique needs.
Dr. Sarah emphasizes movement analysis, alignment, and motor control to help patients improve movement quality, support recovery, prevent injury, and enhance physical performance. She is also a certified Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis-Specific Exercises (PSSE) clinician with experience treating adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis, allowing her to provide specialized, movement-focused care for patients with spinal conditions.
Fluent in both Mandarin and English, Dr. Sarah values building meaningful relationships with patients and empowering them through education, collaboration, and individualized care throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Sarah enjoys practicing Pilates, hiking, traveling, and appreciating art. Her passion for understanding how the body moves, along with her interest in alignment, posture, and movement control, continues to shape both her clinical practice and research interests. She strives to provide thoughtful, compassionate care to patients across different ages and activity levels.
